Many read about there being a hidden emulator in Nintendo Switch that allowed NES Golf to be played with ease. Nintendo was taciturn regarding this Easter Egg.
Users of Nintendo Switch could use the emulator to play the secret golf game. However, now the code has been erased thereby ensuring that the game is no longer on the list.
The game can only be played on July 11th. That day in time marks the death date of ex-Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. The emulator could be reached using the Joy-Con.
Although this seems to be a salute to the ex-president of Nintendo, it was not stated by the company whether it was on purpose or not. Nintendo may not have wanted for the game to have been discovered at all.
Or so it seems from the looks of it. Whatever may seem to be the case, now the code has been uprooted and the game no longer remains extant in the firmware of the Switch.
The game can be accessed on the older versions of the Switch though. That is a bit of a consolation for gamers who just happen to be addicted to the secret golf game.
