Amazon has started to sell the SNES Classic this morning through Amazon's Prime Now service in select cities. The SNES Classic is still available after two hours. Prime members in Atlanta, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Columbus, Orlando, Richmond, and Tampa & Virginia Beach can buy the $79.99 SNES Classic with free 2-hour delivery.
We just checked and all cities still show availability of the SNES Classic. The hype is just not strong anymore. Last year, during the NES Classic hype, the Prime Now availability was gone in minutes each time Amazon put it up for sale. The demand for the SNES Classic has also died down in the UK. The SNES Classic Mini is in stock for hours on amazon.uk. You can get the European SNES Classic shipped to the US as well.
Because of the slow sale, Amazon will sooner than later, make the SNES Classic available on amazon.com. We expect this to happen before Dec. 22, the Holiday cut-off time for free two-day shipping. Reseller offers for the SNES Classic are now down to $118. Nintendo did come around this year and supplied enough retro consoles to damage the reseller business severely.
