The latest news on the under-works Samsung Galaxy S9 is from an industry insider in China and says that the tech giant has ditched an early Galaxy S9 prototype. This prototype was supposed to have a screen-to-body ratio of over 90%, which was also the subject of the rumors that claimed that the Galaxy S9 will have even smaller bezels than the Galaxy S8.
This news by the insider in China claims that Samsung has ditched this prototype as well as the plan, and has decided to build tracks in a different direction. The images posted with this news show a clear comparison between the ditched prototype that had super-small bezels and the new Galaxy S9 design that the publisher claims will be the new prize-jewel of the South Korean tech giant.
Those who want to see the difference, both of the devices will look almost the same with one difference: the early Galaxy S9 prototype will have signs of significant efforts of reducing the bottom bezel when compared to the bottom bezels of Galaxy S8 and S8+. If the news is accurate, the expected screen-to-body ratio of the new Galaxy S9 design will be approximately 85%, which is about the same as in Galaxy S8 and S8+.
Although according to the design, the next flagship will not carry-on with the rounded-corners design of the previous models like the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Judging by the design, Samsung Galaxy S9 looks more like the current flagship being offered because the speculated design of the Galaxy S9 looks like a more blocked shape than Galaxy S8’s, and looks quite similar to the one we have seen in Galaxy Note 8.
