Smart clothing will become common in the next few years. Samsung has been showing off concepts of wearable smart clothes since a few years now. A new patent reveals how Samsung believes smart clothes will be powered.
The network of sensors and processors integrated into shirts or jackets is powered by energy harvesters. A battery storing the energy is integrated in the back of the smart clothing accoridng to the patent. Samsung keeps the kind of sensors used to harvest energy widely undefined. Most wearable energy harvester work by generating energy from body movement.
When Samsung is bringing smart clothes to the market is still unclear. In 2015, the company showed off the HumanFit smart suit that had some RFID tricks up its sleeve.
