Pokémon Go announced a major event earlier this week. A global Pokémon Go event in which players are encouraged to take part in the hunt for three billion Pokémon. While many wondered how the goal will be attained, Niantic announced that they are bringing some major updates to the raids in Pokémon Go.
Based on field testing and feedback by gamers, Niantic has made several updates to the game format. The updates and features have been outlined on the website for Pokémon Go. Some of the biggest updates have been explained.
A major update is the improvement of quality of rewards for raid participation. According to the update, trainers will get Golden Razz Berries for completing raid battles.
The number of potions and revives awarded for completion will decrease while their quality will improve. Win or lose, trainers will get stardust for participating in a raid battle. Magikarp is making a triumphant return to tier 1 raid battles.
Revised guidelines for EX Raids have also been issued. Battles will take place in gyms of sponsored parks. According to the guidelines, Trainers who have a high-level gym badge have more chances of being invited to EX Raids happening at a gym.
Also, trainers with a higher number of battles under their belt are more likely to be invited to EX Raid battles. The blog post on Niantic's website confirmed that EX Raids are complete with their test phase, and EX Raids will be official going forwards.
