- Workhorse Announces First Manned Flight of SureFly Electric Hybrid Octocopter
The Workhorse Company is based in the United States and provides solutions for high tech transportation problems. The first flight of its SureFly Electric Hybrid Drone will take place on January 8th ahead of the CES 2018.
This date has been given the approval after checking in regarding the climate and other matters of importance. The CEO of Workhorse spoke of how after meetings with FAA, his company had decided to go ahead with the experimental project known as the SureFly.
The public has taken a liking to SureFly’s image after they saw it for the first time. Certification and a test run lie in the future for this special drone which is actually an octocopter. It happens to be the first one of its kind on the face of the planet.
It debuted at the Paris Air Show for the first time and on January 9th, it will take its first flught at the CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
SureFly is basically a deconstructed and reconstructed version of a normal helicopter. Not only is it more secure but it is a cinch to fly as well. Anyone can handle it and it does not come at too steep a price.
Four propeller arms are there on this octocopter. Two rotors exist on each limb. It has a back up lithium battery pack as well. A parachute exists too somewhere in the machinery in order to safely land it back on its base. The drone is the bee’s knees.
SureFly Electric Hybrid Octocopter will take its maiden flight at CES 2018 that will be held in Las Vegas, NV from January 9-12.
