- New iPad Pro Rumored to Get Processor Upgrade with Octa-Core A11X Bionic Chip
Apple has kept iPad design basic for a long-time. The design has not been tweaked every year like some other companies. It had contributed to the iPad maintaining the Apple brand decently.
Apple launched the 10.5-inch iPad Pro earlier this year. It felt like a testing ground before Apple launched its impressive iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X this year.
The phones have been integrated with a lot of new features. While the next series of iPhones from the company are expected to be a step ahead of it predecessors, rumors are that the iPad will be getting an upgrade as well.
According to a post by Chinese website MyDrivers, Apple is working on a new model of iPad. The new model could feature a new design and Face ID.
There are also rumors that Apple will be integrating an upgraded A11 Bionic chipset in the iPad which will take it from hexa-core setup to an octa-core one. The new model might be dubbed as the A11X.
The octa-core upgrade is not confirmed. However, reports are that A11X will be designed using the 7nm process by TSMC. The tablet will be launched in Q2 2018.
Analysts are speculating that the bezels in this iPad will be thinner. It will not feature the camera quality and features from the iPhone X. It will also not feature an OLED screen but a LCD screen.
